Dr. Ronald Renard, MD

Dr. Ronald Renard grew up in California. He went to the University of San Francisco and studied in Montpellier, France for his degree in French language. He received his M.D. from Creighton University in Omaha and then returned to San Francisco for his internship and residency in internal medicine. This was followed by his training in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology in Denver. He has published articles on the use of generic versus name brand medications in asthma management.

After serving ten years in the US Army as a physician, including as the assistant chief of allergy and immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and director of the Allergy Extract Production Laboratory in Washington DC, he returned to Northern California where he has been in practice since 1984. He has done medical volunteer work out of the country in Mexico, the Caribbean and India.

He has been at his current location since 2005. His practice focuses on treating a broad range of allergic problems, asthma, and immune related illness. He worked with the American Lung Association for over 20 years as the physician for their regional children’s asthma camps. He has volunteered with the American Red Cross, serving the Shasta area. He served on the Shasta County Planning Commission. He again served with the Army during Operation Desert Storm in 1990-1991. He is currently an Assistant Clinical professor of Rheumatology, Allergy, Immunology and Family Medicine, UC Davis Medical School, with teaching clinics at Mercy Family Health, Redding, and UC Davis, Sacramento Campus.

Dr. Renard currently spends time with his wife, children, and grandchildren while enjoying hiking, biking and kayaking.
